I'd been meaning to pick up one of these pizza stones but never got around to it, but I figured it was time to give them a try - after all, there's nothing like a good hot pie for dinner. Having read some great reviews from others who swear by their use, I thought I'd give this one a shot and see how well it performs. I've been using it on my regular pizza oven base and it has made a huge difference in terms of heat distribution - the crust is always crispy and evenly cooked now.

I've been waiting to try out this pizza stone, hoping to put its quality credentials on the test first. I was pleased with its appearance and feel - it's a solid, dependable item that looks like it's built for the job. Having used it once, I found it to be quite good value for money. In my attempt to cook a pizza, I failed to follow instructions by not covering the stone in flour before adding the toppings. As a result, I had to quickly lift the pizza and apply as much dough as possible before attempting to place it on the stone - this ended up being far too much dough, but fortunately I was able to salvage it.

The finished pizzas were perfectly cooked, with a nice crisp bottom. However, my second attempt at making a pizza resulted in a slightly floury crust due to a mishap during cleanup. The last pizza of that batch turned out flawlessly, with the stone stained and some dough stuck to its surface - I'm not sure what will happen as time goes on. Cleaning it was another challenge altogether.
